by isleofman.com 18th March 2013
At approximately 17:09 on Saturday Night Fire Crews from Peel and Douglas Fire Stations were dispatched by the Emergency Joint Control Room having received a 999 call confirming a fire at a property in lower Foxdale.

Upon the arrival of the first fire appliance crews from Peel were met by the occupier who had successfully extinguished a fire in the chimney area where a log burning stove had been fitted, unfortunately the occupier had sustained minor burns to his hand whilst tackling the fire and was treated at the scene by ambulance crews.

Although damage to the property was minimal Peel crews remained in attendance for some 30 minutes using thermal imaging equipment to confirm that no fire spread had taken place and assisting with the removal of the debris caused by the fire.

Fire crews left the scene at approximately 17:55.
