New Central Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector

Inspector Mark Britton will be taking up the new leadership of the Central Neighbourhood Policing Team which covers Douglas, Onchan and Braddan. Inspector Britton has taken up the role following on from Inspector Phil Shimmin.
 
Inspector Britton said:

“Douglas is the largest Neighborhood policing team in the Isle of Man, and has of a diverse mix of retail, social and residential areas all policed from Lower Douglas Police Station, Willaston and Pulrose Police Offices.

Recently the policing of the area has adopted a community focused approach with the area working to the boundaries set up for Council wards: Victoria South, Victoria North, Derby, St Georges, Athol, Murrays, Hills Onchan (Village and Parsh) and North/South Braddan.

I look forward to the Policing challenges in partnership with the key partners in the community together with an already excellent team working with me.

Our focus in the next year will be on Keeping People Safe through engagement in the community, working for the vulnerable and tackling anti-social behaviour.

I want to keep our crime levels low and I am proud to serve the people of the area in achieving this.
