Wildlife Trust celebrates 40th anniversary

There's a rather special birthday this today.

The Manx Wildlife Trust is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a range of special events.

From humble beginnings as the Manx Nature Conservation Trust, with just a few enthusiasts, the organisation has grown into the pre-eminent nature conservation group on the Island, encompassing everything from wildflowers to Basking Sharks.

It recently moved into its own dedicated headquarters in Peel.

The Trust has also become very active in education and recently the work of their Education Officer Kath Smith - which had been under threat due to cutbacks in government subsidies - has attracted vital support from Nedbank Private Wealth.

To celebrate their 40th, Kath says they've come up with special challenge for people to try
