Lezayre Road Reconstruction Works, Ramsey – An Update

by isleofman.com 21st March 2013

The Department is pleased to advise that it expects to complete the current works by the end of April, well in advance of the original programme for completion in mid-May.

The works entail full reconstruction of the road and footways from Parliament Street to Bircham Avenue,  which were in a distressed state and were failing significantly.  Improvements to various items of utility company apparatus are also being undertaken as part of the project.

The traffic signals at Parliament Street/Lezayre Road  junction continue to operate, although the timings have been set to the maximum settings to give priority to the main through route.   The Department has kept the signals operational to provide a safe right turn for vehicles into Parliament Street as well as incorporating two sets of signal controlled pedestrian crossings which continue to be well used.

The Department would like to thank local residents and businesses for their patience and co-operation as these works are undertaken.
