Snow leads to school closures

There's major disruption around the Island this morning.

Heavy snowfall overnight combined with heavy rain has led to many road closures and a number of Island schools will not open today.

The following schools will be closed:

Michael Primary
Foxdale Primary
QEII
Peel Clothworkers
St John's
the Bunscooil
King William’s College and the
Buchan

All other schools remain open. The situation will be continually reviewed a number of tress are down, power is out and the steam packet sailings are cancelled.

The following roads are closed:
• Mountain Road – Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa
• Sloc
• Ballamodha
• Peel Coast Road
• Cronk-y-Voddy
• Sulby Glen
• Beinn-y-Phott
• Creg-ny-Baa back road
• Kirk Michael to Ballaugh
• Switchback

Roads passable with care:-
• A5 Castletown to Douglas
• A2 Laxey Coast Road, Ramsey to Douglas
• A1 Peel to Douglas
