MEA working to restore supplies

by isleofman.com 22nd March 2013

The MEA have released the following statement:

The situation as it stands at the moment is that we have a significant number of customers off supply due to a combination of weather-related faults (snow, ice on lines, high winds, trees down).  The main areas affected are from Peel through to Kirk Michael and in the NW Ballacain to Ballacriy.  There are also a number of localised incidents which we are attending to.

Teams are out in all areas working under difficult conditions to restore supplies as quickly as possible.

Our priority at present is to “Make Safe” supplies and our “Priority Care Customers” (those are customers who are vulnerable such as “supply for life”) prior to restoration beginning.  If anyone does see damage to Overhead Lines, please DO NOT approach, call us on 687687 or we can be reached via our Facebook Page or Twitter.  Staff are on standby to assist.
