Battle to clear the roads continues

by isleofman.com 26th March 2013

The Department of Infrastructure says an assessment of road conditions will be carried out at midday.

It's hoped some more roads may be suitable to open to traffic later in the day.

The DoI says priorities are to continue working with the MEA and the emergency services to help them to gain access to the most vulnerable.

Many roads which have been closed in the west and centre of the Island have now been opened to residents only, with no through access.

The following roads remain completely closed, though:

- Sloc, from the Ballamodha Straight to its junction with the Linague road.
- Roundtable to Ronague.
- The Mountain Road - Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa.
- Beinn-y-Phott.
- Tholt-e-Will Road, from its junction with the Mountain Road to the former Tholt-y-Will pub.
