Roads update

The following updates were issued by the Department of Infrastructure yesterday evening:

Roads now open:-

•        A18 Hillberry to Creg-ny-Baa – narrow areas in places, please drive with caution.
•        B20 Begoade Road, Creg Back Road – narrow areas in places please drive with caution.
•        B35 Ballanhicholas – please drive with caution.
•        B32 Lhergy Cripperty
•        B37 Clanna Road, Santon

Roads Closed:-
 
The following roads remain closed:- 
 
•        A3 Douglas Road Corner to Ballig Bridge – access available for emergency services and residents only, no through road.
•        B32 Lhergy Cripperty, A1 Union Mills to Cooil Road – access to The Downs / Cronk Road only.
•        B22 from its junction with Ard Whallin to its junction with B10 Beinn-y-Phott – access for residents, no though road.
•        A27 from its junction with the Ballacallin to Roundtable – access for residents no through road.
•        A36 Sloc from the Ballamodha junction.
•        A36 to its junction with B44 Linague, access to properties, no through road.
•        A27 Roundtable to Ronage access to properties, no through road.
•        A18 Mountain Road – Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa.
•        B10 Beinn-y-Phott.
•        A14 Tholt-e-Will Road from its junction with A18 Mountain Road to Tholt-e-Will pub.
•        B37 Clanna Road from its junction with Newtown to Stuggadhoo crossroads, access to properties, no through road.
•        Mount Murray Back Road, access from the A5 New Castletown Road to Ballacutchal farm, no through road.
 
The Department will continue to deploy Heavy Plant & Equipment supported by a number of contractors using similar equipment from across the Island, in an effort to open the remainder of roads (currently closed) as quickly as possible.
 
Our priorities are, to continue working in conjunction with the Emergency Services in order to gain access to the most vulnerable.
 
A further assessment of current road conditions is expected to take place early this morning (Thursday), and further updates will be issued as necessary.  
 
The Department would like to thank the travelling public for their continued patience.
