Curraghs Wildlife Park opens for Easter

by isleofman.com 28th March 2013

We are pleased to announce that the Curraghs Wildlife Park will be open for Good Friday.  After a heavy blanket of snow last weekend, just as the Park was due to open, the decision was made to remain closed as the paths and car park were impassable.

Kathleen Graham, General Manager said  ‘The staff had been working extremely hard tidying up the Park before last weekend and we were ready to welcome visitors with some newly laid paths and a new piece of play equipment down at the cafe when the snow hit. Staff made a great effort getting through the snow to see to the animals and that was our main priority last weekend. A few structures have collapsed under the weight of the snow but thankfully none of these housed animals.’

It is advised that if you are visiting the Wildlife Park this Easter you wear wellies or good boots.  Those with prams, buggies or wheelchairs may find a few of the paths difficult but staff are working hard to widen the paths through the snow; all the main paths are easily accessible but the nature trail is still out of bounds. There will be activities and talks at the Park throughout the remainder of the Easter break.

The Park is also offering a Membership scheme that replaces the old season ticket and is valid for a whole year from date of purchase.  If you decide at the end of your day’s visit that you wish to join your admission paid will be discounted from the cost of Membership.  Membership for a family of 4 costs just ?80 for the whole year.

The Park is open from 10am-6pm each day with last admissions at 5pm.
