Can you help Southern Befrienders?

Island charity Southern Befrienders is appealing for new volunteers with a skill in business, leadership and fund-raising to join them.

The group links elderly and isolated people in the south of the island with local volunteers willing to spend a just an hour a week providing much-needed company.

The Befrienders are now looking to recruit new board members with talents in business, fund-raising or leadership, to help drive the charity forward.

Scheme co-ordinator Lorna Trevethan says their Easter gathering was a joy for all involved:
