MHK: snow a 'catastrophe' for farms

Middle MHK and former president of the Manx National Farmers Union Howard Quayle says last week’s snow has been a catastrophe for farmers.

The week-long freeze looks set to continue into this week with more cold weather forecast – farmers have already lost thousands of sheep to the deep snow during lambing season.

Mr Quayle says he’s heard the events of the past week described as a ‘disaster’, an assessment he fully agrees with.
