A bus strike scheduled for today isn't going ahead.
Two, two hour stoppages had been scheduled as the latest action in the long running dispute between drivers and the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure.
But in a surprise move, it was cancelled by the drivers yesterday afternoon.
It's the latest twist in a seemingly intractable dispute which is becoming as bitter as the recent weather.
Drivers feel they're being treated unfairly and forced to make sacrifices not seen in management - the department insists it has to make ?300,000 of savings to survive.
Yesterday's cancellation seemed totally unexpected by the Department. Minister Graham Cregeen welcomed the development but admitted he hadn't been provided with any reasons for the move.
Meanwhile, Unite's leader in the north-west Bobby Morton claimed the walk-out had been called off because the drivers were in the process of taking Bus Vannin to an employment tribunal.
A sitting of the tribunal next month will consider claims of unfair dismissal and unfair deduction of wages among other issues.
Mr Morton said drivers had decided to concentrate their efforts on this for the next few weeks, though he warned that a wave of strikes were being planned for late May.
