DoI reviewing Malew Street and The Crofts, Castletown

Department of Infrastructure Traffic Management Review
At a recent meeting hosted by Castletown Commissioners, officers from the Department’s Highways Division met with Richard Ronan MHK, Castletown Commissioners and representatives from the IoM Fire and Rescue service and IoM Constabulary to discuss pedestrian safety concerns and congestion issues which had been identified along Malew Street and The Crofts during a recent joint exercise between the Department of Infrastructure, IoM Fire and Rescue Service and the Southern Neighbourhood Policing team.
 
The Department’s Highways Division will be undertaking a review of pedestrian safety, parking and congestion to determine the best way to establish a coordinated traffic management plan for these streets, in conjunction with the aforementioned partner agencies.
 
Residents and businesses are encouraged to contribute to this review by providing any suggestions or comments in writing, on or before 16th May 2013, to the Highways Division, Department of Infrastructure, Sea Terminal Building, Douglas IM1 2RF or by e-mail to : networkplanning.doi@gov.im.
