Make sure your child is protected against measles

by isleofman.com 6th April 2013

The Director of Public Health says parents on the Island should ensure their children are immunised against measles.

Dr Parameshwaran Kishore was speaking as concern increases over an outbreak in Swansea which has seen over 600 cases reported so far.

Parents have been queueing outside clinics in south Wales today (Sat) where MMR jabs are being given to children.

Dr Kish says he hopes the outbreak doesn't reach the Island, but with families travelling to many parts of the UK over the Easter holidays it can't be ruled out.

He says parents should ensure their children have received the MMR vaccine so that they're protected in the eventuality of any outbreak here

Anyone who is unsure about whether their children have been vaccinated should seek advice from their GP
