An Alex Bell-inspired Bacchas A showed why they won’t relinquish their grip on the Wi-Manx Men’s Premier Division without a fight.
Bell hit seven as the leaders demolished Vikings A 12-2 on Saturday.
It was a remarkable scoreline as the reigning champions ran riot against a side largely considered to be the third best in Manx hockey.
Karl Moore (two), Johnny Callow, Jamie Brown and Andy Whiting netted the others.
Valkyrs A remain level on points after putting 12 of their own past Ramsey A.
Chris Thomas was their hero with five in a 12-1 win.
Neil Jacobs added a hat-trick and there were further goals from Vic Fearns, Ollie Webster, Chris Caldwell and Julian Colley.
Castletown A won the big relegation clash, running out 4-2 winners over Vikings B after a hat-trick from Christian Steriopolous and one from Paul Kelly.
Christian Davies and Danny Williams scored for Vikings.
Bacchas B saw off Valkyrs B 5-1 with Jamie Cox (two), Craig Leece, Josh Riordan and Richard Le Page the goal-getters.
Steven Moore replied for Valkyrs B.
Vikings A clinched their sixth top flight women’s title to continue their domination of women’s hockey.
Kim Carney, Katie Errock and Kirsty Cooper scored the goals to set the title party in full swing.
Alice Bowen replied for Bacchas A.
Katy Stopford hit four as Castletown A saw off Valkyrs A in an eight goal thriller.
Dani Kelly grabbed the other in a 5-3 win with Kerry Beattie, Andrea Kneen and Tamsyn Cleavely replying for Valkyrs A.
Bacchas B and Valkyrs B shared four goals in an exciting contest – Niamh Goddard and Andrea Craig scoring for Bacchas and Ali Caroon and Michelle Poyzer for Valkyrs.
North triumphed over south as Christina Kermeen, Amy Stoutt, Julie Chesterton and Ellen Robinson fired Ramsey A to a 4-0 victory over Castletown B.
