Santon woman died from a fall

An inquest has heard how a 76 year-old Santon women died after falling at a nursing home.

Winifred Howard slipped and hit her head at Springfield Grange in Douglas on April 4.

She was taken to Noble's Hospital where scans showed she had a significant brain injury.

Doctors consulted Walton Neurological Centre in Liverpool about Mrs Howard's condition - it was then deemed no surgical intervention should be taken.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham opened and adjourned the hearing this morning (Monday).
