One talented horticulturalist could win up to ?300 out of a ?650 prize fund in this year’s Ramsey in Bloom competition.
With 13 trophies and 20 cash prizes on offer Ramsey in Bloom 2013 has been launched by Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass who said: ‘Every year this competition reveals some outstanding gardening talent, from ambitious planting schemes through to the “Little Gems” category that never fails to showcase truly imaginative and creative use of small spaces.
‘Ramsey in Bloom is not only about recognising horticultural expertise, it’s about helping make Ramsey a greener, more attractive town. It’s also about encouraging civic pride, especially at a time when we’re beginning to see Ramsey regeneration gathering pace with the transformation of the Courthouse area in Parliament Street. I would therefore urge as many individuals and businesses as possible to enter the competition to introduce some added colour into the town and help signal the arrival of summer.’
Entry forms are available to download from ramsey.gov.im and in hard copy from Ramsey town hall.
Closing date for entries is June 30th and judging will be in mid-July.
