Plans which would dramatically alter the landscape of Onchan have led to a government consultation being extended.
Over the last few months, voters across the Island have been able to have their say on new electoral maps which re-draw constituency boundaries for House of Keys elections.
And Onchan is proving one of the most controversial.
The Boundary Review Committee has published detailed plans to replace the current 15 constituencies from which the 24 Keys members are elected.
Under the proposed new system, there would be 12, two-seat constituencies, with the number of voters in each roughly the same, around 7,000.
The committee’s original proposal for Onchan included locating most of Birch Hill in a new East constituency.
It is now considering retaining Birch Hill within Onchan, but moving most of Howstrake, including Lakeside Gardens, into the East constituency.
Government has agreed to extend the deadline for submissions until next Monday – April 15.
