MannIN Shorts is to hold an exhibition in the Tynwald Library from Monday April 15th to Friday May 10th 2013. The film training and production scheme for new and emerging film-makers in the Isle of Man will be showcasing films made during the first 18 months of the initiative which is supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council. MannIN Shorts’ Christy DeHaven explained: ‘As well as showing the films there will be some “behind-the-scenes” clips to show how much work and creativity go into making the shorts. We will have photographs of events we’ve held or in which we’ve been involved, along with examples of artwork created by Sayle Gallery artist Bruno Cavellec for the films and there will be a viewing area with a screen and sets of headphones. We’re really looking forward to the exhibition and to have the opportunity to show the public and Tynwald Members what our crews have been doing this past year and a half.’ The exhibition will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Located on the ground floor of the Legislative Buildings in Finch Road the Tynwald Library exhibition space provides schools, youth, community and sporting organisations as well as private individuals and commercial enterprises with a secure, easily managed area in which to mount Manx-themed displays. There is no rental charge, only a small commission fee for sales by commercial operators.
