Police investigating unexplained death at the Point of Ayre

Just before 8.00pm last night, a member of the public contacted the emergency services to report a car on fire on the Cranstal Road, Bride, near to the Lighthouse at the Point of Ayre.  The Fire and Rescue Service attended the area and extinguished the fire.  Police also attended the scene where it was discovered that the body of a person was inside the vehicle.
 
Police are currently looking into this matter, which is described as an unexplained death at this time.  It is believed there were other people and vehicles in the area who may have information that is relevant to the enquiry.  They are asked to contact Police Headquarters in Douglas on (01624) 631212.
