MHK in battle bus over boundary changes

Onchan residents who may be included in a new House of Keys consituency are being urged to have their say this weekend.

The Boundary Review Committee is suggesting a major shake-up in Onchan as part of an Island-wide plan to create 12, two-seat constituencies.

As there are currently three MHKS for Onchan the committee's suggested placing Howstrake and Lakeside Gardens into an enlarged eastern constituency.

That move came after plans to hive-off Birch Hill met with local opposition. The deadline for comments on the alternative has been extended until Monday.
