Wallace & Gromit are visiting the Isle of Man in partnership with Lloyds to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Wrong Trousers Day which is a national event in aid of Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity, which raises funds to improve the quality of life for children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.

This years Wrong Trousers Day celebrates the charity’s 10th year of bringing this national fundraising event to support sick children in hospitals and hospices! Thousands of people from all walks of life pay a pound to swap their normal attire and step out in weird and wacky clothes - or just something plain ‘wrong.’

“Lloyds TSB is fully committed to ensuring this very worthwhile initiative is fully supported throughout the three day visit”, said Peter Reid, Island Director. He also added “colleagues from across the Bank in the Isle of man will be donating their own time and enthusiasm to assist at the events and raise much needed monies for the Charity.

Tony Wild MLC, Member for the Department of Education and Children explained: “Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s  Foundation raises money for UK and Isle of Man children’s hospitals and hospices through events that appeal to young and old alike.  Peter Reid, the Island Director for Lloyds TSB Offshore Bank was successful in attracting the Foundation to the Isle of Man and approached the Isle of Man Government to become involved in this charitable exercise.  From a Department of Education and Children perspective, we thought that a competition supported by a visit by the Wallace and Gromit characters to the winning student’s school would be fun and in support of a worthy cause.  We understand that the Wallace and Gromit characters will be actively travelling around the Island and encouraging everyone to wear ‘wrong trousers’.”
