Fire Crews attend incident at Airport

At approximately 17:49hrs on Sunday (14th April) evening Fire Crews from Douglas, Castletown & Port Erin were dispatched by the Emergency Joint Control Room having received a 999 call confirming a “Full emergency” at Ronaldsway Airport.
 
Upon the arriva, the first fire appliance crews from Castletown liaised with the Airport Fire Commander who confirmed that there had been a technical problem with a British Airways SAAB 9000 aircraft on its start up.
 
The captain had however successfully shut down the aircraft.  Airport Fire Crews remaining on scene until the incident was closed at approximately 18:21 hours.
