Fifth place for Taggart in Northern Ireland

Lloyd Taggart finished fifth in the opening round of the British Fell Running Championships at Silent Valley in Northern Ireland on Saturday.

Tom Cringle finished a creditable 28th in afield of a few hundred competitors.

Round five of the Rentokil Manx Fell Running League takes place on Saturday, April 27.

The Sean Craig sponsored Snaefell Race covers an eight kilometre course that starts and finishes at the Bungalow and, with over 550m of ascent, is one of the toughest races on the local calendar.

Start time is 2pm with registration from 1pm.
