Body found by fishing vessel

On Friday evening (12th April 2013), the Police were notified of a human body having been dredged up by a fishing vessel several miles from Ramsey coast.  The local Lifeboat was launch to assist in the recovery of the body.  
 
Inspector Juan Kinley says “Due to the condition of the body, the gender and cause of death remain unknown.  We are working closely with colleagues from neighbouring Police forces to identify the person.  We do not believe the person was from the Island”  
 
The Coroner of Inquests has now been informed.
