Former ADC to Governor to stand in West Douglas

by isleofman.com 16th April 2013

The latest candidate to throw his hat into the ring in West Douglas believes his time as Private Secretary to two Lieutenant Governors has given him a great insight into the workings of government.

Clive Dawson – who will contest next month’s House of Keys by-election – was Aide de Camp to Major General Sir Laurence New and Air Marshall Sir Laurence Jones.

A British Army Officer, his overseas experience includes time as a Business Manager in Qatar and in Thailand.

Mr Dawson believes a broad base of international experience, working in different countries and cultures, means he’s well placed to hit the ground running.

Financial analyst Chris Thomas, taxi driver Martin Moore and retired fire officer John Skinner are the other three candidates.

Nominations close a week today - Tuesday, April the 23rd.
