Island resident featured on London transport

by isleofman.com 18th April 2013

If you happen to be in London over the next few weeks you are likely to see a familiar local face on the walls of the London Underground Railway or looking at you from the side of a London bus.

Dean Johnson is a pilot over here with FlyBe.  He is also a Special Constable and a popular officer in the local Army Cadet Force.  But, most importantly to Dean, he is member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, popularly known as Mormons, and in January he became one of a small number of people in the U.K. chosen to star in a series of short films called “I’m a Mormon”.
These vignettes outline the lives of ordinary men and women who are Latter-day Saints and explain what being a member of the church means in their lives.

A film crew of five came over to the island at the end of January and for two days filmed Dean at home with his family or at work.  For a third day they drove round the island filming background footage. Dean felt honoured to be one of the few people chosen to represent the church in this venture and said it was a tiring, but very enjoyable, three days.

To see Dean at work in our beautiful island, visit mormon.org.uk, click on ‘people’ then click on ‘I’m a Mormon’ or go to his personal site http://mormon.org.uk/dean.
