Runner's first marathon attempt this weekend

by isleofman.com 18th April 2013

Local runner, Christopher Compston, rather reluctantly agreed to run this weekend's 2013 London Marathon after much pestering by his friend and fellow London Marathon entrant, Dasa Mojzis.  (Dasa is running to raise funds for Hospice IOM).

This will be Christopher's, an experience sprinter, first full marathon.  Covering a distance over 200m is very much new territory for him and until a few weeks ago he'd not even run a half marathon distance before.

Training around the Isle of Man has been eventful and every training mile has been outside of his comfort zone but this has only served to remind Christopher that he is doing this for a very special cause, the Rainbow Children's Trust.

Christopher is aiming to raise ?2,000 for this worthwhile charity so that they may continue doing the amazing job that they do.

If you want to sponsor Christopher, every donation will be greatly appreciated, please visit his page:
