Peel street remains closed after high winds cause damage

by isleofman.com 18th April 2013

Michael Street in Peel remains closed this afternoon. (Thurs)

It was closed yesterday evening (Wed) after the high winds caused roof slates to fall from some buildings in the area.

Roofers have been working to repair damage all morning and Health and Safety Officials have been assessing the situation.

It had been hoped to have the street opened by midday - but police say it will now remain closed until 4pm

Access is available to some businesses officers say they will open the street as soon as it is safe to do so.
