by isleofman.com 19th April 2013

Douglas Mayor, Councillor David Ashford, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Sylvia Ashford, has hosted a reception for colleagues of Scottish Widows.

The company is a long-standing supporter of the Council, sponsoring the Summer Reading Challenge in partnership with the Henry Bloom Noble Library for five consecutive years, the Douglas in Bloom contest and, most recently, the primary schools’ daffodil-growing competition, for which it donated a shield for the overall winning school.

Based in Victoria Road, Douglas Scottish Widows is part of the Lloyds Banking Group and provides sponsorship and volunteer support to a number of Council initiatives.
