by isleofman.com 23rd April 2013

A full family fun day has been organised around the Isle of Man’s Three-Legged World Record attempt on Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May.

The event, which is raising money for The Children’s Centre, has a strong family focus and organisers are hoping to make this ‘the’ place to be on Bank Holiday Monday.

Chris Pycroft, Assistant Chief Officer of Douglas Development Partnership commented, “We want to make this a day to remember for residents of the Isle of Man. Three-Legged entrants will get a chance to put their names in the record books and we’ve planned a whole day of entertainment, food and activities around the main event.”

“We want to get as many people as possible to enter the three-legged race and have planned a range of entertainment for people of all ages and interests,” he added.

An area at the northern end of Douglas Promenade and Beach has been approved to host the event, which will run from 11am until 5pm. Confirmed events for the day include a giant water slide, slack lines (similar to tight rope walking), a paddling pool, chalk painting, face painting and sandcastle building.

Everyone is encouraged to enter the three-legged World Record attempt, with pairs able to register through the event website at www.threelegs.im.
