Four to contest Douglas West by-election

The names of all those in next month's West Douglas by-election are now known

Nominations for the seat made vacant after Geoff Corkish's elevation to the Legislative Council closed earlier today.

Four candidates will contest the seat.

They are Clive Phillip Dawson, a semi-retired consultant, social worker Quintin Gill, John Skinner, a retired fire officer and financial analyst Christopher Thomas.

Earlier today a fifth candidate, taxi driver Martin Moore, decided to withdraw his name.

The election will take place on Thursday 23rd of May with 5 polling stations in the constituency opening from 8am to 8pm
