Beecroft questions reasons for Sefton Group rescue plan

MHKs have been scoffing at government claims it’s intervened in the Sefton Group to protect jobs.

The House of Keys saw an hour-long debate on the issue this morning, sparked by a question from Liberal Vannin Party leader Peter Karran.

Chief Minister Allan Bell said allowing the business to go into administration wasn’t an option because 300 jobs were at stake.

But South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft poured scorn on the claim:
