Family's vision for special needs centre

by isleofman.com 26th April 2013

A small Island charity inspired by a little boy with physical and behavioural problems is raising money for the service which became a lifeline to the whole family.

Manx Miracles was set-up by the parents of three-year-old Harrison Connor from Abbeylands, who was born with a rare collection of genetic, physical and neurological disorders.

His family only found a way to cope when the toddler's needs were explored and explained by experts at the pre-school assessment centre in Douglas.

Mum Louise has organised a fun day at Douglas rugby club on Sunday (28 April) to help raise ?80,000 to create a state-of-the-art sensory room at the Pulrose centre.

The funday between 11am and 2pm will include fun runs for adults and youngsters, face painting, bouncy castles, stalls and refreshments.

For more information contact Louise on 480296, go to manxmiracles@manx.net or find them on Facebook.

She says the family was struggling before the centre gave them practical help and moral support:
