Salon 3 expands its services

by isleofman.com 30th April 2013

One of the Isle of Man’s leading hairdressers is expanding its services with the appointment of a Nail Technician for the first time.

Sarah Lancaster has joined the team at Salon 3 in Douglas to offer a wide variety of treatments from a basic file and polish to manicures, pedicures and one of the most popular products on the market, Shellac Nails.

Customers can now benefit from having their nails done whilst at the same time having their hair styled, saving them valuable time in their busy lives.

An experienced and trusted technician with a background in the beauty industry, Sarah has already seen a large demand for Shellac Nails from customers who are impressed with its longevity, quick and easy application, and the fact it has no harmful and long-lasting effect on nails, unlike some other treatments on the market. Taking between 30 to 45 minutes to apply, this can be fitted in to a lunch hour or break from work.

Firstly, cuticle remover is applied and the cuticles treated, before a base coat is added and set quickly under a UV lamp. Two coats of polish are applied, with each being set for two minutes under the UV lamp. Finally a top coat is added and set. This produces a sticky residue which, when wiped away, leaves stunning, shiny nails which will last for around two weeks depending on their owner’s lifestyle.

Oil is applied as a final touch to nourish the cuticles. One of the key benefits of Shellac Nails is that there is no drying time; the polish is set under the UV lamp during the treatment, meaning there is no danger of brushing wet nails against clothing and smudging them, as with traditional manicures. It can also be applied to toes, and is available in a wide variety of colours.

Sarah commented: “I am delighted to be offering a new service to Salon 3’s clients and expanding the already wide choice of treatments available to them. Nail treatments are becoming increasingly popular with both women and men who are more image conscious and like to have well-groomed hands and feet.

“Shellac Nails are a fantastic option for clients because they have so many benefits. Firstly, because they’re so durable they’re very cost-effective, and are quick to apply with no drying time. As well as for every-day use and for events such as weddings, they’re great for people going on holiday because they won’t need to be re-applied every couple of days and will remain shiny throughout. Finally, they also mean a client is getting a manicure or pedicure and cuticle treatment at the same time which further increases the value for money.”

Salon 3 is offering Shellac Nails for just ?15 during April – normal price is ?18.50. To book an appointment with Sarah, including late nights, please call her on 616263 or email salon3@manx.net.
