Police confirm drugs seizure - Updated at 11:15 am

On Thursday 3rd May, 2013, following an Operation by the Pro Active Team, a local male was arrested in Douglas for serious drug related offences and money laundering offences.

Approximately ?20,000 worth of what is believed to be Cocaine and Ecstasy has been seized and also a substantial amount of cash.  At this time the local male is in Police Custody helping with enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Paul Holland said “In recent weeks the Pro Active Team have had great success in targeting criminal networks involved in the importation and supply of Class A controlled drugs.  This is another positive step towards reducing the availability of Class A controlled drugs on our Island.  If criminals are considering importing or dealing controlled drugs, then be warned you may be the next person in Custody ‘helping’ with enquiries”.

A further update has been issued by the Police advising that at 8.52pm on Thursday 2nd May 2013, a local 31 year old male was charged with the 4 serious drug related offences relating to Cocaine valued at ?15308.00 and Ecstasy valued at ?4730.00.   He was also charged with possession of Criminal Property with regards to ?1200.00 in cash that Police recovered.  He has been held for Court this morning (Friday 3rd May 2013).
