MLA says landlords have positive impact on economy

A spokesman for the newly formed Manx Landlords Association says he hopes it can help create an accurate picture of the role played by landlords on the Island

The association was set up in the wake of the Landlord and Tenant Private Housing Bill which is being introduced by the Department of Social Care.

It's being introduced to ensure basic minimum standards in the private rented sector . . .and would allow the department to enforce such standards.

Speaking on today's Mandate programme Steven Moore from the MLA says he hopes the association can scotch rumours that are a large number of rogue landlords on the Island . .

Mr Moore says he's the association is keen to stress the positive impact landlords have on the Manx economy . .
