On Saturday 18th May between 10am and 4pm, Arg Beiyn Veterinary Practice is holding a Charity Fun Day and Veterinary Practice Open Day event in Parliament Street, Ramsey.
The day will involve a multitude of fun activities and live animal displays. “This event has been organised in association with National Pet Month which aims to promote responsible pet ownership but the ultimate goal is to help raise money and awareness for the two charities that Arg Beiyn are supporting this year which are The Cinnamon Trust and Animal Aid.” said Edric Cross one of the senior vets.
“Animal Aid is a local charity that supports pet owners who have difficulty funding their veterinary fees. The Cinnamon Trust is a UK based charity that provides assistance to elderly or terminally ill people allowing them to continue their association with their pets that they would otherwise lose.
“Our surgery in Ramsey will be open for a behind the scenes look at the Island’s only professionally run hydrotherapy and physiotherapy service for dogs. There will be an opportunity throughout the day to see dogs using our under-water treadmill.”
There will be piglets from Ramsey Grammar School, lambs and calves, displays of dog agility and owls and snakes from the Wildlife Park on the garden area by East Street on Parliament Street. Also present will be ponies from Pennybridge Stables. During the day there will be street performers and entertainment acts around the Old Courthouse finishing with a live band at East Street from 3pm. Andrew Barton Photography will be present throughout the day and there will be the opportunity to have a photographic portrait taken whilst handling an owl or a snake. The final event will be a parade through Parliament Street of a magnificent horse-drawn hearse. This beautiful vehicle will provide an amazing sight and top off the many photographic opportunities throughout the day.
There will be a treasure hunt style competition for all visitors to Ramsey whereby collection of clue words from a few select stores in Ramsey will allow free entry into a competition to win prizes that have been donated by local businesses. Edric said “Once again we have had terrific support from Ramsey Town and we have a large prize fund with some fantastic prizes. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the traders in Ramsey and the Ramsey Chamber of Commerce for their support.”
“We hope that people coming to Ramsey will enjoy the day or a fun filled hour or two whilst savouring the shopping and refreshment facilities in the town and supporting our two charities.”
