by isleofman.com 8th May 2013

TT fans have a chance to meet Milwaukee Yamaha rider Conor Cummins when he makes a personal appearance at the Manx Telecom shop on Saturday May 11. The Ramsey Rocket will be at the store in Strand Street from 10am until noon to sign autographs and have his photo taken with fans. Signed posters will also be available free of charge. Conor said:

“I’m really looking forward to meeting fans at the Manx Telecom shop. Events like this are great because you get a real sense of the excitement building for the TT. I can’t wait for the racing to begin and with Milwaukee Yamaha I’ll be riding for a championship-winning outfit which has the experience and equipment to challenge for TT victories. In the past I have been very close to it and my sights are firmly set on the podium this year.”

In addition to riding for the Yamaha Milwaukee team at this year’s TT, Conor will also contest the inaugural 500cc and 350cc Classic TT Races riding Manx Nortons built and prepared by Tony Dunnell. As well as the personal appearance in the Strand Street shop, Manx Telecom is celebrating its personal sponsorship deal with Conor with an exclusive competition to win a lap of the TT Mountain Course in which Conor will give his expert insight about racing in the TT as he drives the lucky prize winner in a BMW car provided by Buchanan BMW. Details of the competition can be found at www.manxtelecom.com/ttlap.

Voirrey Barron, Marketing Communications Manager, said:

“We’re really proud to sponsor Conor and his appearance at our store is a great opportunity for fans to meet one of the most popular TT riders. It will also be a chance for customers to check out our fantastic smartphone bundles especially for TT fans, plus giveaways such as free Isle of Man bike stands for anyone on the Manx Telecom mobile network.”

As well as sponsoring the fastest Manxman ever to race in the TT, Manx Telecom also has the fastest mobile broadband speeds at locations around the Mountain Course, and the best coverage. This was confirmed by independent research carried out by Omnitele in March this year. Full details of the survey can be found at www.manxtelecom.com/tt3g.
