by isleofman.com 9th May 2013

Police in the West are investigating after an excavator was used to damage a large area of heathland in Greeba.

The incident happened on the top of Beary Mountain, known as Twelve Shares, accessed from the top of Mill Road leading off Greeba Bridge.

Officers say those responsible used a digger to scrape off the surface heath over the past few weeks.

The Western Neighbourhood Policing Team is investigating and is asking anyone who saw a digger in the area to get in touch.

If you have any information you can contact Peel Police Station on 842208.
