IOMLTA PokerStars Open Doubles to be held 18 and 19 May at Kensington Road courts – entry forms are available in the club house. Entries close 15 May. Please support this event and all other competitions this year, otherwise competition will fade out. Times have changed a lot in the last 20 –25 years. Then entries were high as many as 84 in a Ratings Men’s, Women’s singles event. Doubles was always fiercely contested with names like David Kennaugh, Colin Brown, Ron Ronan, David Wilkinson, Diana Cowley, Wendy  McDowell, Austin and Maggie Malcolm, the late John Corrin and many more. All were very competitive. Now it seems that social tennis is all that most people want. Is there any chance we can change this around?

Albany is the host club this year for the IOM Senior Championships from 15 – 23 June.. Get your entry in early –a big entry could benefit the club in refreshment sales. Remember we are raising money to insulate the indoor court. Will someone volunteer to co-ordinate the refreshments please?

The annual Ladies Lunch will be held on Friday 17 May from 12.30. Ring Linda Stamp 827177/483231 for more details and to put your name on the list.
