by isleofman.com 13th May 2013

Douglas RNLI lifeboat volunteer crew members were called out last Friday afternoon (10 May) just after 4.00pm to assist in a search for a person reported missing in the area of the Marine Drive.

The RNLI all-weather lifeboat Sir William Hillary was launched under the command of volunteer coxswain Neal Corran to carry out a thorough close inshore search south from Douglas off the Marine Drive as far as Port Soderick. They were stood down after completing one sweep of the area when the person was reported to have been located safe and well.

The lifeboat returned to the boathouse, was washed down, re-fuelled and was ready again for service at 5.10pm
