ATL spokesman says changes to school day would affect all society

by isleofman.com 13th May 2013

The question of how to structure the school day isn't clear cut

That's according to Andrew Shipley, a local spokesman for the Association of Teachers and Lecturers.

UK Education Secretary Michael Gove wants to see a re-structuring of the school day and the academic year.

The Department of Education and Children on the Island is now going to carry out a study to look into the issue.

However, Mr Shipley says his members would want to see clear evidence before any change was made, as such a change would effect all of society
