MEA advice following reports of hoax calls

by isleofman.com 13th May 2013
The MEA have received reports from customers of hoax calls from so-called representatives of the MEA.  These calls appear to be based around “Checking Customer Account”, “Direct Debit Information” and “Energy Efficiency Questionnaire”.  The MEA have confirmed that they are not currently undertaking any customer surveys and should they require personal information from a Customer this would be done formally either via letter or via one of our secure electronic portals.

Should any customer have any concerns regarding an enquiry, they suggest that no personal information is disclosed and you can report the call via their Customer Services team on 687687.
