The Manx Model Boat Club’s next event is on Sunday the 19th May starting at 10am at Silverdale Lake, Ballasalla. This is not a competition but an invitation to you all to try model boating for yourselves using our fleet of “Av-a-Go” boats, all built by club members just for your enjoyment! At the same time Club members will be practising their skills at twin tug towing.
The concept of the “Av-a-Go” fleet was the idea of a group of Club members three years ago. The intention being to attract all ages to the fun and enjoyment of radio controlled boating and to also encourage would be model boat builders by becoming a club member too. This fleet now has it’s own large inflatable pool and can be seen about the Island this year at different locations, details of which are on out website www.manxmodelboatclub.org/ .
Twin tug towing is a common competition in model boating, but not one the club currently cater for. So this Sunday the opportunity is there for members to bring along their tugs and practise their skills.
We hope you can spare some time and come along and “Av-a-Go”. The morning will start about 10am and continue through till 12:30ish.
More information can be obtained by contacting the club secretary mmbc@manx.net or from John Williams, coordinating officer via newsMMBC@wm.im or from the Club media contact Kim Holland at newsMMBC@wm.im {815624}.
