Number of unemployed fell by 100 in April

At the end of April unemployment stood at 1108, an unemployment rate of 2.5%.

During the month 180 signed on and 280 signed off, giving a fall of 100 in the total registered unemployed. Of the total unemployed 793 are males and 315 are females.

A total of 773 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the month 421 positions were still vacant and held on file.
