Royal London 360° has marked two decades of sponsoring the Isle of Man’s young cyclists.
Once again, this season sees the international life assurance company take its place as title sponsor for the hugely successful Isle of Man youth cycling league. A cheque for ?8,000 has been presented to the league.
The Team Royal London 360° Isle of Man cycling team has been the training ground for Olympic gold medallist Peter Kennaugh and for Mark Cavendish, who in 2012 entered the record books as the most successful Tour de France sprinter of all time after taking his 23rd stage win.
It continues to churn out potential champions while at the same time providing hundreds of island youngsters with an active and fun hobby.
Weekly practice sessions are run at the NSC in Douglas between April and August for 3 to 16-year olds. Spinning sessions are also held at the Braaid Hall and a number of youngsters compete off-island at UK and Irish national events.
RL360°’s cheque will help the league provide those sessions and trips away.
The team’s Dot Tilbury said:
“We have had a long and happy relationship with Royal London 360° and know they are very proud of the young cyclists who fly the flag for the Isle of Man. Their continued support is pivotal to our success and we thank them most sincerely.”
RL360° Director of Marketing Natalie Hall said:
“All those at Team Royal London 360° Isle of Man are dedicated to nurturing cycling talent from an early age and making sure the sport is fun for young people. Their hard work is why our Isle of Man riders go on to do so spectacularly well on the international stage.
“We continue to be very proud of our association with this true Isle of Man success story.”
