Sefton position reiterated

by isleofman.com 14th May 2013

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says he's not in a position to discuss any penalties or default notices made against the Sefton Group.

He was speaking in the House of Keys in response to a question from South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft.

Mr Teare told the house that information about the income tax, national insurance and VAT affairs of any taxpayer is held in confidence by the assessor of income tax and the collector of customs and excise.

He told the court, he wouldn't be made aware of such information.

And Mr Teare stressed again the Sefton group hadn't received any special treatment.
