Candidate favours savings over cuts

One of the candidates standing for election to the House of Keys says he’d make health and education his priorities.

Douglas councillor John Skinner is running in the Douglas West by-election which takes place next week.

Mr Skinner says he’s concerned about cuts to services and is convinced savings can be made rather than losing services.

And he says the Department of Education and Children and the Department of Health need to be protected: (play audio)

Mr Skinner is one candidate contesting the Douglas West by-election next Thursday, May 23: the others are Clive Dawson, Quintin Gill, and Chris Thomas.
