Manx Youth Games hoping to dodge weather

The 12th HSBC Manx Youth Games take place today.

Over one thousand children will be competing in the 13 sports after an Opening Ceremony at the National Sports Centre.

However, the weather forecast isn't good with heavy rain expected.

The message from organisers is to turn-up at the NSC for the Opening Ceremony which is scheduled to start at 10am.

Sports Development Officer Paul Bridson says there are contingency plans if things are bad, including cancellation in the worst case, and he is reassuring parents children will be kept dry beforehand:
